The thing I love about Man of Steel is that it is a movie about Superman, and not Clark Kent.
Don't get me wrong, I loved Superman 1 and 2 (probably even 3). I also really enjoyed the way Superman Returns reminded me of my childhood and Superman 1 and 2. But Man of Steel captured it for me in a way the others didn't. It depicted a Superman who had a abilities but no combat training, someone who had, had to hold back his entire life and never really cut loose.
Man of Steel finally have me a connection to the Superman character that I had only felt for Batman previously. Ultimately, it allows for me to see them as two sides of the same coin. Two sons without Parents, two men driven by feelings of responsibility and honor. Two hero's to look up to.
